Spin it to Win it!

2011 December 10

Calling all you clever people to play a sound bite game.

The best comment winner will receive WorldWideHippies.com gear* from me. Registration encouraged, but not required!

So let’s play “Spin it to Win It!”

Ever hear of the word smith Frank Luntz?   Even if the name doesn’t ring a bell,  you likely have heard his spin.

He has been at the front of some of the more popular media spin of the past decade.   He spins for the money,  not ideology but he works primarily for the Republicans.

This game isn’t a left/right game. It’s a truth game.  If popular terms like Job Creators, Death Tax and “Tax cuts create jobs” were true what would that sound bite sound like?  That’s it.

I’ll list some of the more popular examples of media spin,   but your comments just need to be creative and funny.   Sarcasm and humor required.  No comment limit, submit as often as you like!

Ok, here is the spin to be spun into truth.

  • Job Creators
  • Tax Cuts creates Jobs
  • Death Tax
  • Economic “free market” freedom [this one is new and supposed to replace the term Capitalism in the nation's dialog]
  • Free Market
  • Harder working Americans [replaces job creators and wealthy LOL]
  • Real American’s/True Americans
  • Government Take Over
  • Pay for Performance [replaces "bonuses"]
  • New Careers [replaces the term needing a job in the national dialog]

Comment submissions to win WWH gear will be open until midnight 12/31/2011 –  The winner will be notified by email and a comment reply [so be sure to check back!] Submission winner will need to send  information to axollot@worldwidehippies.com  please state your size and where to send your WorldWideHippies.com gear [international and military address entries accepted].

*[1 t-shirt and bumper sticker to winning comment; a "runners up" comment  will get a bumper sticker; please send us a photo when you receive it and  we'll add it to the site with your permission! Prize has no cash value and winner/s will be picked by WWH staff - winning commenter/s have  until 01/12/2012 to respond or forfeit the prize to runner up; WWH and staff are not responsible for loss or damage during shipping; void where prohibited by law]

I’m taking Luntz’s own claim to be 80% emotions and only 20% intellect and spinning it 80% touchy/feely and only 20% facts :)

When the investing class turns to synthetic instruments like credit default swaps, they create Job Craters, undermining their own notion of free market capitalism and creating a Doodlebug Economy where the hardest working simply struggle hardest failing to escape from an economic crater.

When Tom Sawyer didn’t want to whitewash the fence himself, but he wanted compensation and benefits for doing nothing, so he tricked the other boys into paying *him* for the “privilege” of doing *his* work, he became a Job Creator.

The government to get more tyranic and tax people unfairly and unequally and the power to make us all the same, government is getting way to much power as it is. Remember its God, the people, then the government the power of order is suppose to be, and its turning into the government, government, then the people, and God barely in the equation.and it seems this movement is helping us to lose our country. look at the whole picture and remember rich or poor we have to pay our fair share equally.

      Whose God?

    • December 12, 2011

I ask also… whose god? I want god taken out of the equation completely. Take “In God We Trust” off our money, take UNDER GOD out of the Pledge of Allegiance. God in a political system is the ultimate troublemaker!

There are Job Creators, and then there are Job Doers. Which ones are actually the Harder-Working Americans? Well, that depends on whether you ask a sane person, or a conservative.

Have fun with this one! Frum: Fox News creates an ‘alternative knowledge system’ – hmm like alternative universe? Which coming from David Frum means it’s really bad.

Sadly, A Majority of the Job Creators Today Are Out To Frugally Create Slaves! Now, Lets Talk About Tax Cuts?

“Job Creators” would be teachers, wouldn’t they? That aside, the homespun truth would more realistically be “Temps job dispensary and body removal”, for the dock workers and piece workers who are paid, at the end of the working day, less than minimum wage, and, if injured, not rehired for the next work ticket.

Look up “New Blue Collar Temp” to learn more.

    “Job Creators”=”Nation Breakers”
Instead of “Real American” let’s go back to “All American”
Instead of our nations motto being “In God We Trust” let’s change it to “For All Peoples”
It’s not “Minimum Wage” it’s “Slave Wages”
    “Death Tax”=”Social Inheritance”
    “Government Takeover”=”Socially Responsible Government”
    “Entitlements”=”Social Assurance”
