Enough with the Preliminaries – What IS it?
So what is The Law of Attraction? The Law of Attraction states, quite simply, that in all of the universe, across all dimensions, vibrations that are alike are drawn together. Huh? That’s it? “Birds of a feather flock together”? What’s so [bleeping] profound about that?

Well, it ends up being very profound for us homo sapiens. See, if everything in the universe is made of vibrations, including our thoughts; and if all vibrations attract similar vibrations; and if we get to choose the thoughts we think…

What it means, in practical terms, is that we attract into our lives exactly what we think about. I don’t mean just in a psychological way – like, for instance, Republicans attracting other Republicans. (It works on that level, too.) I mean in a nuts and bolts, tea and tofu, material way. The things we think about, and the energy we feed those thoughts with our feelings, determine what shows up in our lives. We literally pull objects, opportunities and experiences to our lives by the magnetic draw of our thoughts. That’s how powerful our thoughts are. Wishful thinking is not just wishful thinking anymore; it’s the most profound tool available to humanity.

We are not passive observers of the universe, as we were taught growing up. We’re not just
an audience in a big 3D movie. We are the filmmakers and we’re shooting the movie in real
time. Who we are, at our core, is nothing less than the creative Source of the universe itself –
call it God, call it Universal Mind, call it the Field of Intelligence, call it Jim Bob. The word
doesn’t matter

You see, there can only be ONE field of consciousness, ONE essential “ground of being.”
Why? Because consciousness is infinite and unlimited. And whatever is infinite can’t be
divided. Our consciousness, therefore, is literally the consciousness of God. They are one.
And we possess the same creative power that “God” (or Jim Bob) uses to create trees and
birds. We have the power to literally think things into existence, and we do it through the Law
of Attraction.

Holy Crap. As they say.
This is the great Secret that has taken 50 million years of human existence to reveal. And
here we are at the exact moment in history when it has become available for all of us to use.
Can I hear a “Wow, man”?
Remember those car ads from the ‘90s – “On the road of life, there are passengers and
drivers”? Well, it’s true. You no longer have to be a passenger in life, going wherever the big
Greyhound takes you. You can be the driver. Of the Magic Bus. You can absolutely create
whatever life you want, pulling it from the infinite source of all being.
Doesn’t that put a whole new spin on the purpose of human life?
You and I are individual tuning stations of the Divine. And we are designed to fully participate
in the act of pure creation.

How Does it Work?
As I promised at the beginning of this booklet, I’m going to show you a powerful five-step
process for getting the Law of Attraction in gear in your own life. But before we mosey down
that particular road, there are a few basic principles you need to buy into. Well, at least you
need to be open to them, m’kay? (I don’t want to force anything down your throat here – you
need to be the one who proves these ideas in your own life.)
The three principle concepts I’d like you to consider before we move on are:

Our inner being is the source of our world
Thoughts are real and powerful
Vibes are critical
Let’s take these three ideas for a short spin, then we’ll look at the five-step process

Our Inner Being Is Our Source of Creative Power
To leverage the Law of Attraction begins with an understanding that each of us has an outer
being, which wears pants and shops at Whole Foods, and an inner being. We’ve touched on
this idea already, but I want drive it home like a Jack Bruce bass line. Our inner being is fused
with the infinite creative intelligence that makes galaxies and gophers. There is no separation
between us and “God,” because that force we call “God” is the underlying essence of
everything. Can you get how powerful this idea is?

The inner being, not the outer being, is primary. The outer being is just a temporary form, like
a toy horse made of clay. Eventually the clay will be remolded into something else, but the
clay itself won’t go anywhere. Neither will our Inner Being.

And here’s the crucial point when it comes to creation: all things that exist in the outer world
begin as impulses of creativity in this invisible field of the Inner Being. Inner comes first, outer
comes second. Inner is cause, outer is effect

The physical world, it turns out, is like a computer printout. Or more accurately, it’s like a computer game. It’s only showing up the way it does because that’s what the program’s telling it to do. Most of us spend our lives messing with the printout or playing the computer game we were born into. We may hate the game and feel it’s unfair, but we keep playing by its rules because we don’t think we have any choice. We don’t realize that we’re the computer programmer. We hold the power in our hands to rewrite the program itself. And how do we do that? Through the power of our thoughts. What we manifest in our outer world is a result of what we think about in our inner world. Like attracts like.

Thoughts Are Real Things
Thoughts, you see, are “real.” Thoughts exist and are made of vibrations, like everything else
is. If thoughts were not real, we would not be able to wiggle our noses. Why? Well, a purely
abstract thought would have no way to communicate with something as dense and “real” as a
nose. So at some level, thoughts and noses must be made of the same stuff.
Thoughts are very high-pitched and subtle forms of energy but they have a tremendous
amount of power. In fact the higher and finer the frequencies, the greater the power. Thoughts
magnetically attract objects (which are also made of energy), people (which are also made of
energy) and events (which are also made of energy) that match their vibrations. And so…
If we think about attracting money, money comes to us.
If we think about attracting peace, the world around us becomes peaceful.
If we think about attracting a loving partner, that’s who shows up.
Think good thoughts, attract good things. Think “bad” thoughts, attract “bad” things. Yes, it’s
really that simple. We make it more complicated than that, but it’s really that simple.

The entire physical universe is a showcase of all the thoughts that all conscious beings have
collectively thought up till now. It’s up to us to determine what the universe will look like
tomorrow. And we make our mark through the power of our thoughts.

This, of course, is the polar opposite of everything we’ve ever been taught. We’ve been
taught that the only way we affect the physical world is with our actions. But that’s simply not
true. Actions play a role, but FAR AND AWAY the most important and effective way we
influence reality is through our thoughts. Thought creates the Action.

Here’s the way it works (or should work, when we get out of our own way). We are born into
this so-called “physical” world. This incredible place, brimming with variety, acts as a stimulus
for our creativity – we see, hear, and experience things that give birth to new creative desires
within us. Through the power of our thoughts, we then attract the very people and things
needed to make this new creation manifest (i.e. show up in reality). We revel in our new
creation. Then, from this new place of joyful authorship, we become inspired to create anew…

On and on it goes in a never-ending dance that expands the universe in an ever richer and
more complex arena of creation. Creation is an ongoing process, not a one-time event that
took God seven Biblical days to complete. The universe, in fact, is blipping in and out of
existence millions of times a second. And in each of those blips, creation takes place anew.

And we are a vital part of it. That’s the good news. The bad news is, most of us never come
close to even tapping our potential. Why? Because of flawed, limiting beliefs. A belief is just a
thought that we think over and over again. And most of us think some really crummy ones.
We’ll get to that in a minute, but first I want to talk about the third key element in learning to
use the Law of Attraction. That is our emotions, our vibes.

Vibes Are Critical
As I said before, we hippies were really on to something back in the day when we starting
talking about vibes. But a lot of us didn’t know why.

Our emotions, our moods, our vibes – the way we feel – turn out to be an immensely
important factor in harnessing the Law of Attraction. Emotions are not just subjective reactions
to events, they are our dead-on reliable indicators of whether we are working the Law of
Attraction or sabotaging it.

Our emotions, you see, are like the auto-pilot system of an airplane. When we are “on
course” – that is, thinking good thoughts and attracting good things – we feel good. Always and
absolutely. The moment we go “off course,” and let negative thoughts creep in, our emotions
send us a bad-feeling signal. We are not meant to dwell in this bad-feeling signal, we are
meant to use it as a prompt to get back on course. It’s kind of like the way pain is supposed to
work. It feels painful to hit ourselves on the head with a hammer; it feels good to stop. Pain is
not a state we’re meant to dwell in; it’s just an indicator that we need to change course. Put
the hammer down, so to speak.

Feeling good, day in, day out, is an indication that our lives are on track with our desires.
Feeling joyful and optimistic is vital.

Emotions also act as amplifiers. When we consistently hold ourselves in a place of position
emotion, we feed immense power to our positive thoughts and set up a vibe that goes to work
like a mega-magnet, pulling our desires closer to us.

Whenever we experience negative feelings, it is an indication that something is “off” in the
thoughts we’re thinking, which means we are attracting unwanted things into our lives. It is
impossible to feel terrific and to be thinking negative, disempowering thoughts. And vice versa.
Our vibes – our moods – are our unfailing signal as to whether we’re attracting wanted or unwanted stuff.

Feeling good means everything. It means our thoughts are aligned with the creative desires
of our Inner Being and we’re living and creating the life we want. Feelings are as important as
thoughts.

Through the Law of attraction, there is no reason for you not to modify, change, or improve your life in a way that you wanted it to be. Learning and implementing the Law of Attraction helps achieve the thing that I desire just money, love, peace and freedom.

Hey, I really liked it when you said that feeling good is everything… Sometimes, we get so caught up on things that we forget to make sure we’re on a positive wave-length. One thing I like to do to make sure I’m feeling good whether I’m working or playing is to put on some beautiful music like they suggest in The Secret. I have a personal question for you but I’ll send it to you through your contact page. Thank you for reading!

Thanks Joe. This should be required reading. I know this works because it’s how I live my life, and it’s absolute magic. For decades, I have read, studied, attended seminars, etc. trying to understand how life works. Simply put, you move toward and become like that which you think about. This is beautiful stuff and you have made it so easy to understand! Looking forward to the next installment.

Very good stuff, Joe. Thank you for the fascinating piece.

A few years ago, following some personal disasters, I encountered a book titled, “The Self-Aware Universe” by Amit Goswami, and subsequently had my mind blown. I would recommend that everyone read this book.

In a nutshell, everything is everything, we are all part of the same universe, as aware of itself as we let ourselves become. This book takes on the challenge of fitting the new physics, quantum physics, as the basis for a new(to Westerners) philosophical way of looking at the world, and ourselves.

In an interview, Goswami speaks to the philosophy of monistic idealism: “It is the spiritual teaching. It is not just parallel. The idea that consciousness is the ground of being is the basis of all spiritual traditions, as it is for the philosophy of monistic idealism—although I have given it a somewhat new name. The reason for my choice of the name is that, in the West, there is a philosophy called “idealism” which is opposed to the philosophy of “material realism,” which holds that only matter is real. Idealism says no, consciousness is the only real thing. But in the West that kind of idealism has usually meant something that is really dualism—that is, consciousness and matter are separate. So, by monistic idealism, I made it clear that, no, I don’t mean that dualistic kind of Western idealism, but really a monistic idealism, which has existed in the West, but only in the esoteric spiritual traditions. Whereas in the East this is the mainstream philosophy. In Buddhism, or in Hinduism where it is called Vedanta, or in Taoism, this is the philosophy of everyone. But in the West this is a very esoteric tradition, only known and adhered to by very astute philosophers, the people who have really delved deeply into the nature of reality.”

I must admit to getting headaches at times trying to unknot my consciousness. It is an ongoing process to find a counterweight to our four hundred year old Western philosophy which is essentially founded on the mechanistic views of Newton and Descartes. Goswami’s book is a constant re-read for me. He includes a lot of seemingly paradoxical situations seen in physics experiments which can only be explained by the interaction of our observations (and even thoughts!!).

Thank you, Joe, for another wonderful, interesting article.
