Ignorant Hippie Basher Dennis Romero from laweekly.com smells really bad! His body odor stinks almost as bad as his writing. Man… Take a Fuc$ing shower
Re written as an article by Dennis Romero from a survey with some really stupid commentary. Dennis Romero has no idea what or who Hippies are. He is just another copy boy with a byline. Next article Dennis Romero why don’t you go after writers who don’t have any talent so they have to call people names to get attention to their articles?
Just my opinion Dennis. Joseph McEvoy, Hippie.
by Dennis Romero- Burning Man Fans Not Stinky Hippies But Rather Educated and Even Republican
Burning Man is L.A.’s favorite party.
And everyone knows a burner is a stinky hippie who washes with bong water and raves to 1999 break-beat trance.
Wait, what?
The latest Burning Man “Afterburn Report” of attendee demographics was released this week. And guess what?
Burners are surprisingly cosmopolitan:
The latest survey data shows that the biggest group of people on the playa, 40 percent worth, are at least college grads, with another one in four holding graduate degrees.
One in four burners … is a Republican. Yep, you heard that right. And while that might seem like a relatively low number in America’s red-state-blue-state equilibrium, only about one in three ID’s as a Democrat, with another one in three going “independent.” If you want to read more shit writing go here

Survey reveals techies, not hippies, dominate Burning Man
By Christina Farr,venturebeat.com -
This year, a record 55,000 people made the annual pilgrimage to Black Rock Desert in Nevada to build a temporary city in the desert. For over a week, they inhabit the dusty abyss, dancing and sharing gifts, before taking off and leaving no trace of civilization behind.
Would you believe that your typical costume-wearing, drugged-out attendee at Burning Man, is almost as likely to vote Republican as Democratic or Independent? And probably works 9 to 5 in the computers or technology field, the most well-represented profession at the festival (this year, one of the most popular camps was “electronics/tech,” which catered solely to Bay Area nerds).
Newly-released data from 2011′s survey of thousands of participants reveal growing gentrification in the ranks of the attendees. Interesting revelations include:
- In 2008, surveys showed that Republicans were less than 10 percent of attendees. By 2011, this group counted for 20 percent of attendees.
- In 2011, over half of the attendees attended college and achieved a bachelors degree.
- In recent years, attendees are younger than ever before. In 2003, just over a third of participants were 30 and under. By 2011, the younger population was even represented than the older group (between the ages of 31 and 50)
In recent years, the survey’s organizers have thrown in the occasional provocative questions. Burning Man might be growing in popularity, but a large chunk of professional city-slickers are still not prepared to admit that they attend the festival.
- Nearly 16 percent of participants said they lied about attending the annual festival because they were ashamed. Read more…
