Nude AIDS activists arrested in House Speaker John Boehner’s office (Drunk Boehner asks if these are strippers for the Ole’ Boys after hours party)
WASHINGTON—Three women AIDS activists saying they wanted to highlight the “naked truth” about potential spending cuts in HIV programs were arrested Tuesday after taking their clothes off in the lobby of House Speaker John Boehner’s office.
The trio had the words “AIDS cuts kill” painted on their bodies and had linked arms with four men who also disrobed as part of the protest. The nude protesters, along with dozens of other clothed demonstrators chanted slogans, including: “People with AIDS are under attack. What do we do? Fight back.”
The three women were arrested by Capitol Police as they mingled with other protesters in the hall outside Boehner’s district office after putting their clothes back on. The naked male protesters appeared to have left.
“People with AIDS are sick and tired of being pushed over the cliff,” said Jennifer Flynn, 40, of New York City, who was among those arrested. “We need to make sure they stop going after people with AIDS.” More…

75-year-old Texas woman fuming after being pepper-sprayed at Keystone XL Pipeline protest
EDMONTON – Jeannette Singleton doesn’t consider herself an environmental activist, and until last week had never attended a protest.
Now, the 75-year-old great grandmother is livid after getting blasted in the face with pepper spray at a rally in East Texas against TransCanada’s Keystone XL Pipeline.

Joining a group of demonstrators who object to the 2,200-kilometre pipeline that would carry bitumen from Alberta’s oilsands to Gulf Coast refineries, Singleton was horrified when a protester fell into the path of a truck amid a tumult on Nov. 19.

“I will never forget the look of terror on that young man’s face,” Singleton said Tuesday from her home in Nacogdoches, Texas. “I just rushed forward, which is a natural female thing — in the back of my head I was thinking it could have been one of my grandsons.”

Almost simultaneously, Singleton said, a sheriff’s deputy came from behind the vehicle and doused her and others who were stepping forward to help with pepper spray.

“I will always remember that yellow stream coming toward me,” she said. “He was a big old guy and he sprayed me from about four feet away. If I had a serious heart problem, I am sure I would have had a heart attack.” More…

Painting of Obama as Crucified Jesus Christ Goes on Display

I thought he was the Anti-Christ! Now I’m really confused!

Michael D’Antuono’s ‘Truth,’ a painting that depicts President Obama posed as Jesus Christ during his crucifixion, has gone on display at the Bunker Hill Community College Art Gallery in Boston, Massachusetts.

The painting is part of an exhibit called ‘Artists on the Stump – the Road to the White House 2012’ and will be on display until Dec. 15, reports Fox News.

A spokesperson for the Bunker Hill Community College Art Gallery told Fox News there hasn’t been any criticism of the painting, which was supposed to debut about four years ago at New York City’s Union Square, but was axed due to public opposition.

D’Antuono told Fox News: “I always regretted canceling my exhibit in New York because I feel my First Amendment rights should override someone’s hurt feelings. We should celebrate the fact that we live in a country where we are given the freedom to express ourselves. The crucifixion of the president was meant metaphorically. My intent was not to compare him to Jesus.”

D’Antuono blamed the controversy on the right wing media, which was “trying to promote the idea that liberals believe the president to literally be our savior. But I accepted that it is their right to express themselves. More…

Judge postpones secret back room hearing on BP plea

She waiting for the check to clear!
NEW ORLEANS — A federal judge has rescheduled a closed-door meeting to discuss BP Plc’s agreement to plead guilty to criminal charges stemming from its deadly 2010 rig explosion and response to the massive oil spill off the coast of Louisiana in the Gulf of Mexico.

U.S. District Judge Sarah Vance had planned to meet Thursday in her chambers with prosecutors and BP attorneys to discuss scheduling matters in the case, but she pushed the meeting to Dec. 11 due to a scheduling conflict.

Earlier this month, BP agreed to pay a record $4.5 billion in penalties and plead guilty to a raft of charges to resolve the Justice Department’s criminal probe of the Deepwater Horizon disaster. The deal, which is subject to Vance’s approval, calls for BP to plead guilty to charges involving the deaths of 11 rig workers and for lying to Congress about how much oil was spewing from its blown-out well. China not named currency manipulator as promised by Obama During Campaign
WASHINGTON, Nov. 27 (UPI) — The U.S. Treasury Department said China’s currency remains “significantly undervalued” but did not name the Communist country a currency manipulator.

In its semiannual report to Congress on international economic and exchange rate policies, the Treasury Department dealt with actions taken by China to appreciate its currency, the yuan, also called the renminbi, and move to a more market-determined exchange rate.

The Chinese currency has been an ongoing issue, with some critics in the United States saying China has artificially kept the value of the yuan against other major currencies low to run huge trade surpluses at the expense of importing countries since a lower yuan makes its goods cheaper. China, whose economy is heavily export-driven, has been under growing pressure from Western nations to allow its currency to appreciate so as to create a level playing field in international trade. Researchers claim sequenced ‘Bigfoot’ DNA
TIMPSON, Texas, Nov. 27 (UPI) — A Texas veterinarian says she and fellow genetic researchers have confirmed the existence of “Bigfoot,” though their findings have yet to pass peer review.

Dr. Melba S. Ketchum of Nacogdoches, founder of DNA Diagnostics Inc. in the eastern Texas town of Timpson, said she and her team spent five years on their study of purported Bigfoot hair and concluded they have confirmed the existence of a hominin hybrid species, the legendary creature commonly called “Bigfoot” or “Sasquatch,” living in North America.

There have been frequent-but-unsubstantiated claims of Bigfoot sightings over the years, including some grainy film clips. More…

All I want for Christmas, is not to be used for political fodder! A bowl of cereal would also be nice!

Sanctions effect hits Iran’s food system just as planned.  Iran’s food distribution system is in crisis even though Western sanctions do not directly target the market, the plan same used to starve civilians in Iraq is directly targeting the poor. Combined with the lack of medicines already created by sanctions, children and the elderly are most affected. The same tactics during the 80’s and 90s, resulted in the deaths of over 200,000 children in Iraq. Merry Christmas!

Private importers are shrinking away from deals made risky by turmoil in the rial currency, and many foreign banks are reluctant to finance even trade exempt from the sanctions for fear of drawing fire from the US simply for doing business with Iran.

The result is that the Iranian state is under growing pressure to import and allocate more goods as it tries to avoid any social unrest due to shortages and soaring prices.
